We believe we get to give.
Rescue house exists so that lost people cross from death to life and continue taking steps to follow Jesus. Every donation given to our church goes toward the support of our vision and current goal to reach 1% of the Triad (10,000 people) for Jesus. There’s no greater investment you can make than an investment in the kingdom of God and the life change it brings to our community.
What is Tithing?
Have you ever wondered why pastors teach on money? The answer is simple–Jesus taught on money, but not because He was greedy or because He needed money. Jesus taught on money because He knows money is the number one competitor for our hearts. We simply put our money toward what we value the most (Matthew 6:21). For example, we pay our rent or mortgage because we value having a place to live. Because money is seen as such a necessity to live, we can easily find ourselves in a place where our money is controlling us, instead of us controlling our money. God knows money is stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! Through the Bible, God has actually set in place a system to help us win with our money. The very first step God asks us to take is to give Him room to work within our finances through the tithe.
Just place your check or cash in the offering bucket or donation box (located at our Giving Stations) during any worship experience. For your convenience, offering envelopes are available at the Giving Stations, located by each auditorium entrance. You can place cash, or check payable to Rescue House Church, in one of these envelopes and put it in the offering during any weekend Worship Experience; or mail it to Rescue House Church and we will apply your gift. If you would like more offering envelopes, you may request them at the Next Steps Center or call the church office at 336.753.1390.

God defines the tithe for us as the first 10% of our income that is to be set aside just for Him (Leviticus 27:30). The way we allow God to use our tithe is through giving it to your local church. God already owns everything, so He isn’t asking us to tithe because He wants something from us; He wants something for us (1 Chronicles 29:13-14). God even challenges us to test Him in this promise and see how He pours out blessings on our lives because of our obedience in tithing (Malachi 3:10). Instead of stressing over having to handle 100% of our money on our own, God asks us to give Him the first 10% of our income so He can have room to work in our finances, and we can have His blessing on the last 90% that we keep to use however we choose. Rest assured that 90% blessed will go much further than 100% without God’s blessing.
Tithing shows God and our money just where our priorities are, and we believe it’s just one more way we worship. Giving isn’t something we have to do, it’s something we get to do because it takes us one step closer to Jesus and experiencing financial freedom the way God intended.

What are Rescue House Church’s beliefs on money?
We believe that God owns everything according to Psalm 24:1 “The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
Why is giving so important?
Jesus talked more about giving than the subjects of heaven, hell or prayer. In Matthew 6:21 and 24 Jesus says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also…No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” In Luke 6:38 He says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
What is a tithe?
As Christ Followers, we believe that we are to follow God’s command regarding tithing. “Tithe” means “tenth” or 10 percent. Leviticus 27:30 says, “A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.” In Malachi 3:8-10 God speaks to His people, “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”
What is an offering?
Rescue House believes that we are mere stewards of what God has given us. Therefore, we see tithing as giving back what is God’s to God (and He lets us keep the other 90% to use appropriately). Any amount above 10% is considered an offering to God. This type of giving is over and above and should also be done with cheerfulness.
What is the difference between a tithe and an offering?
A tithe is giving the first 10% of your gross income as defined by Malachi 3:10. An offering is given above and beyond the tithe.
Where does Rescue House get its income?
God provides for Rescue House through the tithes and offerings of those who partner together under our vision “so that lost people cross from death to life and continue taking steps to follow Jesus.”
How can I give to Rescue House Church?
Tithes and offerings can be placed in the offering buckets or donation boxes (located at the Giving Stations) during any of our weekend Worship Experiences. Giving Envelopes are available at the Giving Stations (located by each auditorium entrance). Electronic giving is available online through automatic draft and by debit or credit card. Does Rescue House give to missions?
We consider every penny spent at Rescue House Church to be mission spending! Rescue House’s budget also supports strategic community partners, local outreach projects and benevolence.
Let’s face it, money is a huge competitor for our hearts and a heavy factor in some people’s success. For those very reasons, during His ministry, Jesus taught on “money” more than any other subject. He wanted people to understand how to win with their money, not be slave to it. At Rescue House, we reflect Jesus’ heart on money and want to see you win with your finances God’s way. Here’s how we believe we can help you win!
We know dealing with money can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. At Rescue House, we have trained, financial coaches that can help you build a budget, get out of debt and begin taking steps toward your financial dreams.
If you need one on one coaching for your finances email us below.
The first step to winning with your finances is by putting God first. We get to give the first 10% of our income back to God, and He blesses the other 90% in ways you could never imagine (Malachi 3:10).
